The Screwtape Letters is the most life changing book I have ever read. And for the longest time I had a fear of it; I just wanted to avoid it at all cost. I actually felt physically uncomfortable at the thought of reading it. I can just imagine what devils must be saying amongst themselves about that book: “*whatever* you do, don’t let a human read The Screwtape Letters; keep him as uncomfortable at the thought of doing so as possible. For once he has read it, all our methods will have been exposed to him and he will see how to resist us. His condition will become utterly hopeless.”
