An Update on Moi and A Confession...
So lately I’ve been cycling around. I start out very happy and satisfied; kind warm, fuzzy, carefree, and a little bit determined. Then I proceed to feel a heaviness creep into me that I only partly understand. This is when words become unsatisfactory and I would like to just be left alone. But at the same time very much want to express how I feel. However, the concepts floating around in my...

Strawberry Glue Horses ... Forevahhh
Brittany: WHAT IS THAT??!!
Ashlee: WHAAAAAT??? *proceeds to take flying leap across basement in fright*
Brittany: Nothing.
Ashlee: Strawberry fields forevah.
Brittany: Is that Beatles?
Ashlee: Yes.
Ashlee: What smells like glue? Did someone kill a horse?
Brittany: Do dead horses smell like glue?
Ashlee: No, they make glue out of dead horses.
Brittany: REALLY?? Still.
Ashlee: I don't think so.
Brittany: From what part ... ?
Ashlee: mmMMmm.
Mhmm.
Ashlee: Ok.
Nick: You sound half drunk.
Ashlee: Thank you!
Nick: I didn't know what was a compliment.
Ashlee: That was sarcasm, Nicholas - SARCASM...
Nick: Well, you're welcome!
Ashlee: Bye.

The Screwtape Letters is the most life changing book I have ever read. And for the longest time I had a fear of it; I just wanted to avoid it at all cost. I actually felt physically uncomfortable at the thought of reading it. I can just imagine what devils must be saying amongst themselves about that book: “*whatever* you do, don’t let a human read The Screwtape Letters; keep him as...

Can Theology and Love Coexist?
From Essential Truths Of The Christian Faith by R. C. Sproul: With respect to the primacy of the importance, the heart is first. If I have correct doctrine in my head but no love for Christ in my heart, I have missed the kingdom of God. It is infinitely more important that my heart be right before God than that my theology be impeccably correct. However, for my heart to be right, there is a...
The Quoatables - Episode 1
Stuff that I’ve read recently that I found interesting… In the other, the sunken life, in the world of green feedings, all the leaves say yes, meadows of curved stems say yes and warmth flows from the depth of this yes out toward horizons where hills are still transparent and the ground white with drippings from the moon. Waking from this memory of green, we’ll face the skirmish...

Everything's Changing...
The seasons are changing again. Summer fades out to make room for the brilliant colors of autumn. My emotions become more acute in the cool, crisp air. I remember hints of golden times from a childhood that is gone, never to return. I am in awe of the beauty of life, which seems to take on a sweet simplicity this time of year.
Life is filled with more change than just the seasons. So many...

It's Just That Easy
Nick: "Well, we need some people to do surveys for a little while. Basically, you go up to random people, say 'Hi I'm with the Downtown Improvement District and I was wondering if you have a couple minutes to take a quick survey about the event?' and if they say no, say thank you."
Ashlee: "What if they say 'f**k off'?"
Nick: "Then you f**k off."
